Who has seen the two different types of these Spanish definitives?




The 2c, 15c and 25c?

As I wrote here earlier, the 25c has TWO types, no doubt about!

The above stamps all have type I and all have a horizontal direct of paper!

What I am missing in discussions is the role of the controll numbers!

The difference in the 25c is quite obvious once you see it! And it looks like the 2c may be OK as well (or rather not) , but the 15c???

The only reason to change the design was that the change in lay-out from 100 to 200 per counter-sheet. I would say hardly any reason to re-engrave stamps consideringit to involve just 3 face values and meaning a lot of work for Vaquer - several months of work that is!

Starting with "A" for type I:









The vertical strike of the "5" is short and not prolonged, the lines under "España" can be seen separately!

Continuing with "B" for type I:

Type II has got a prolonged vertical strike of the "5" and the lines under "España" have become ONE massive thick line!

There is also the change of the direction of paper from horizontal to vertical...

I do not have - or may be they do not exist? - the "J" and "K"!?

Anyhow, the "L" has a change in direction of paper from vertical to horizontal!

The difference in the 25c is OK!

But how about the 2c and the 15c???? Does it really exist or are we just misinterpreting catalogues of the past???

Why does no catalogue feature an image of the two types of the 2c????

Where is the second type of the 15c????

Any difference in the "5"???

Let's follow the same procedure as with the 25c although we can not have that many letters!

Compare the following with A1 and the direction of paper horizontal!
