UK QEII Wilding on white paper

Sometime ago there was a question about White paper!
joelk escribió:Excellent question, especially for those Wilding definitives (for me at least).

I somehow thought that the stamps where you can see the lines/fibre direction at the back were generally cream paper. That may be completely wrong or stupid as the catalog does not mention a different production method, but rather that a different quality of water was used in the production process of the paper. Otherwise, it's not that easy to distinguish. I would love to hear from a specialist...

Cheers,
Joel.
And of course he was right!

When browsing through some of my Wildings I came across a remarkable difference - at least for me - with respect to surface structures and opacity/transparency:

Top row creamy, bottom row white!
