rein hello, I need to know about Swiss stamps. The issue is the granite paper, what is the difference with the white paper, texture, color, etc.. In the forum of European stamps (Switzerland) are the photos. thanks.

Granite paper is paper that has coloured fibres - usually red, blue or black. But also brown and green combination can be found. It is a security measure to make falsifications more difficult. Switzerland has had these types of paper with coloured fibres for about 100 years. At the end only the purple fibres were there to distinguish the phosphorescent paper easily from the non-phosphorescent .....
