In the UK Machins stamps we find variations in the position of the value within the value tablet:

There is another aspect that some of you may have already seen!

Most stamps displayed have a bluish dot halfway up the left part of the "O"!

Not all stamps have it, but this may be in a way comparable to the guiding dots in the recess-printed stamps of the 19th century (Compañia Sud-Americana de Billetes de Banco, Buenos Ayres). The value itself is floating and most likely had to be affixed inside the common design of the JSM stamps, one or two guiding dots must have facilitated this!

The 20c stamp is by far not the only value having such dots! The 2c has 2 or 3 dots, the 10c one, etc.....
