I must have said this before
Argentina is probably the only country where stamp collectors realize the difference in stamp paper in terms of "granulado" and "rayado" or symmetrical paper wire versus asymmetrical paper wire!!
And since the granulado was the standard type of paper till at least 1938 - the year we first see the rayado paper (on a world wide scale of course!) - the rayado paper pops up much later in most countries....
In the German Federal Republic (Deutsche Bundesrepublik] the first signs of rayado paper can be seen around 1957!
Somehow the rayado paper had not been popular at all as the granulado remains the main type of paper till about 1969!
