Too groove or not too groove!

One of my magmifying glass is 8X and with it I could hardly see the brown fibers. Could it be that I am a daltonic?

8x is not enough! Although my old 10x did do well!

I depicted some Chilean examples a few days ago!

Theoretically, fibers might be seen at spanish papers made at the "Fabrica Nacional de Papel" at Burgos
way up to 1992, roughly (until the third issue of the King), since by then, they changed "a few things" at the
paper mill, AFAIK. But I'm (still) not focusing in such modern issues (I'm screening stamps of the first issue of
S.M. el Rey and the previous one: in those definitive series, fibers could be seen, thats a fact!) My .02

PS: Jorge, could you explain a little bit that spanish paper you found on chilenean stamps?

Hello

I was reviewing the papers and I found the grooves only in Spanish Gummed Paper stamps. The others were completely smooth.

The stamps that I saw were mint so is that was not produced by washing the stamps off envelopes.
The spanish paper was used in very few emissions during the years 1991-93 including commemoratives stamps.

Novarode: only 1989
Spanish: 1991-92-93
Harrison: 1991 to 1996 (even until now!!)
Harrison is the principal paper supplier of CdM (for stamp production).

As I said Novarode went bust in 1991 so some other supplier had to be found! Harrison and Sons no longer supply stamp paper, all supplies had been taken over by Tullis Russell [formerly Coated Papers Limited] after in 1997 Harrison&Sons [printing house] had been taken over by De La Rue.
