It can be done in a very simple way as most catalogues do:

And in fact! The main division of this classification is clear!!!

Photogravure versus Offset-Litho!

That is how is should start!

Why where the 5p, 27p and 45p issued first in offset-litho??

Although the 4p in photogravure was issued first - 15.03.1976, the offset-litho stamps followed suite: 22.04.1976 [27p], 27.04.1976 [45p] and 14.05.1976 [5p].

The photogravure stamps somewhat later: 05.07.1976 [27p], 03.06.1976 [45p] and 20.10.1976 [5p].

Did that make sense?????

Or are such questions superfluous in Argentina??

Another feature related to the use of certain printing methods here seems to be the type of paper!

Paper with watermark Casa de Moneda for the offset-litho issues and no watermark for the photogravure printing.

This is not so far-fetched! The photogravure printing was done on the reel-fed Goebel-press introduced late 1968! There was NO watemarked paper available in reels! Wasn't it??

The different types of perforation also were related to the use of printing presses! The Goebel had an in-line perforator! The sheet-fed offset-litho press had to lean-back on a seperate machine...

The offset-litho stamps followed suite: 22.04.1976 [27p], 27.04.1976 [45p] and 14.05.1976 [5p]. All within a few weeks!

One should not be surprised if the characteristics were the same!? But they are NOT!!!!

The 5p and the 45p have the colour printed ON TOP of the black text!!! One might even state that this goes for the 27p as well!

The 5p has a horizontal/vertical screen with gauge 80 lines /cm, whereas the 27p and 45p have the traditional gauge 70 screen with the dots in diagonal lines [45 degrees]!

I do not have that many copies so my example of the 45p is rather weak!!
