Here you have portrait and frame of the Kidd - San Martin 15c, and a essay from ABNC.
How does they copy some parts of the portrait, line by line? May exist any photographic way?

photographically enlarging - re-drawing- and photographically making it smaller again! The 15c does look like the ABNCo essay but it is NOT even a perfect copy!
Look at the 6c!
Your Kidd print compared with the real Kidd stamp! Could be the same!?
The resemblance is great but not perfect!?

The way plates were made in at least two steps brings the inevitable loss of detail!
We may expect several tiny details to have got lost!
But some did NOT!
How was this possible???

Reproduzco el diagrama hecho por el Ing. Schey para el libro de Jean Paul Marais, que como siempre, nos permiten tener a golpe de vista un caracter diferencial para identificar rápidamente las posiciones.

Rein, when you finished with the 6 types of root block, you can continue looking for diferential characteristics of the 100 positions of the plate (I got to that point in reconstructing the plate, but it's still unpublished) and from there ad infinitum, studying its evolution along the issue (ie the time axis)... as you once said, it's like the search of the black tulip.
