The 1956 1st Anniversary of the September Revolution of 1955 I had shown that there were 2 types of paper that can not be found in the Tello Meggia catalogue as the line of AЯ is the same in both cases - horizontal relative to the stamp design.

In reality we are dealing with a parallel watermark in combination with a horizontal direction of paper (eje de enrollamiento) or an orthogonal watermark in combination with a vertical direction of paper (eje de enrollamiento).

The 1947 Cervantes stamps with the line of AЯ always vertical in relation to the stamp design:

The 1965 Police 8p stamp is supposed to exist on 2 types of paper. "Satinado Nacional" and "mate importado" - the later being the more scarce one.

I haven't seen the imported paper yet, but there are 2 versions of the coated Zárate papers:

The 1949 Constitution 1p stamp exists on 2 types of coated paper with asymmetrical paper wire. One with the direction of paper parallel to the long side of the stamp, the other with the direction of paper parallel to the short side - the latter being the more scarce one:

As to the 1947 Cervantes stamps both Dario Bardi and I had assumed that the orthogonal watermark belongs to the Rayado Horizontal, but having had a closer look I begin to doubt that!




When you count the number of horizontal lines it gets awfully close to 16/cm! Which is characteristic for TI 2 [1943 papel Norteamericano]!!! Hence rather the symmetrical paper wire with a density of 30/16 ....

Ortho vs ortho!


Quite some stamps on Zárate paper have two orientations of the line of AЯ! In all cases the watermark is orthogonal as in all Zárate papers!

Subject: MT 721 Dia de la Policia Federal...Mate Blando...

Adquiri esta pieza Muestra MT 721 Dia de la policia Federal del 30 de octubre de 1965, al verlo tuve duda de que sea, ya que lo confundía con el tizado nacional, y el precio en catalogo difiere mucho entre ambos, lo vio Don Merlo y merecontra aseguro que el Muestra estaba sobre papel mate importado blando, de origen alemán,hace un rato lo pude estudiar bien juntando los libracos de filatelia ,sellos y bencina....y Otin tiene razon,el que sabe ....sabe Maestro!!!, es raro ver este Muestra en este papel, ya que es muy escaso encontrarlo ya en usado...pero ahora vamos a diferenciar ambos para saber que es lo que tenemos en manos:
Este sello aparece en Papel Mate Importado Blando, con un fino granulado vertical a la filigrana, si vemos el frente a la luz notaremos lineas simétricas a lo largo del sello en dirección inclinadas, el sol es pequeño en forma de Q (ovalado) con un diámetro de 9,5mm (distinto del mate duro con un rayado vertical y un sol redondo, mas grande que el anterior con un diámetro de 10mm).
El tizado nacional tendrá 2 papeles, con filigrana paralela al lado mayor del sello y otro con filigrana paralelo al lado menor del sello (este ejemplar es mas raro y poco común que el otro), la trama en ambos es un rayado paralelo a la filigrana, y si vemos el frente a la luz, no presenta lineas simétricas.
En sintesis, un papel Mate importado blando, y dos papeles tizados nacionales con posición distinta de filigrana, gracias Don Merlo por su explicación y darle gustosamente la razón, ya que es una muy linda pieza y bien rara, catalogada en el Jalil (1341AP)...saludos...
