1965 50p San Martin in photogravure large size

Mensaje por Rein »

In 1965 the 50p in recess was replaced by a 50p in photogravure in the same size: comb 13 1/2 23/30 teeth hor./vert.

The listings of D. Bardi are rather peculiar as to the prices for the uncoated papers! Are they that scarce??? Comparable to some of the variants of the P&R I series???? I doubt it!

The prices Göttig-Jalil gives are not much lower!!!!

WHY

Rein,
Those stamps are MOST SCARCE; specially the mate DURO (WT). However the price in US$ seems to me rather too high.

Rein,
It happens that the 50 pesos postage in those years was not so common for inland franking, i understand that most copi9es were used for postage to foreign countries. Something somolar happens with the aormal 3 francs (wings in brown in two papers) from Switzerland, with a high value in European catalogs; here used copies are found by the dozens. Saludos,
José
